Our Philosophy

About our camp volunteers. We will have two Pastors and two Deacons leading the messages to our young people. Pastor Bob is our main preacher and we are blessed to have Alan Martin, another preacher, to speak as well. Charles Martin is a Deacon and one of our founding members at University Park Baptist Church who will also be speaking. Ken Hettich, another long time Deacon, will be our first speaker on Thursday. I have been leading the youth at UPBC for several generations of teenagers who have grown up in the church. I was baptized and a part of the youth back when I was a teen. I am currently a Yokefellow (Deacon in training) and lead in many areas of the church. As I have shared with the church, "The teenagers hear from me all the time, now they will have a chance to hear from some others in the church who have been part of the church for a long time".
We have many families attending and helping out so that there will be lots of adult supervision (13 last count) as well as a time of fellowship and fun. We have about 22 teenagers (16 boys & 8 girls) attending (24 is our maximum for the Recreation Center--we are full). This is a small family-centered camp. We are a small church body with a big heart. We hope the love of Christ is evident in all of us and wish to train our younger generation to be Christ's love to everyone they encounter--to be the light in a darkening world.
